“Hundred Bowls, Hundred Ways” – An Exhibition of Shinji Terauchi, Riso Porcelain
HULS Gallery Tokyo is pleased to present an exhibition that focuses on the handcrafted works of Shinji Terauchi, the head of the Arita ware manufacturer "Riso Porcelain". In its fifth edition this year, this exhibition showcases one-of-a-kind porcelain pieces created by Terauchi. Drawing from his deep-rooted knowledge of the ancient Imari tradition, Terauchi not only shapes clay but also applies his artistic touch with a paintbrush, all while spearheading his business. The highlight of the exhibition is a diverse collection of over 100 rice bowls created with the theme of everyday utensils. Please enjoy these works that beautifully resonate with Terauchi's unbounded sensibilities.
