RYO SEKINO

Glass artist based in Tanba Sasayama, Hyogo Prefecture. After studying product design, Ryo Sekino became fascinated by the world of blown glass created by Takeshi Tsujino. After graduation, he gained practical experience at glass studios in Japan and abroad, and contributed to technical instruction at Osaka University of Arts. Currently, at SORTE GLASS, a glassblowing studio he established with his partner Yuko Sekino, he focuses on creating works that express the Japanese aesthetic of the “beauty of subtraction” using his advanced technical skills as a glass artist.
