MASARU KAWAI

Woodworker based in Gifu Prefecture. He trained in woodworking in Hida and chair upholstery in Kyoto Prefecture after studying architecture in university. In 2007, he became independent and established the brand "SOMA" using domestic coniferous trees in 2016 while working as an artist. He is making various efforts to re-evaluate Japanese trees.
