Shinogi is a decorative technique whereby ridgelines are carved on the surface,
making the surface easy to hold. The name derived from the appearance of ridges on Japanese swords called "shinogi." Made by Riso Porcelain, a manufacturer based in Arita, Saga Prefecture, who adopted the latest digital technology to create this method, referencing a traditional scraping technique called "shinogite." This teacup and saucer set is graceful yet structural and deeply composed. It is perfect for serving Japanese tea when entertaining guests at home.
